Streaming Series

In the Spring of 2020, at the height of the first wave of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Montgomery Arts House for Music and Architecture temporarily closed its doors with the intention of supporting the efforts of citizens and government alike to stop the spread of Covid-19. As such, MAHMA's resident artists and founders alike found themselves without a performance outlet and with no idea of when life as usual would resume.

It was out of this place of scarcity that Maria Newman conceived an opportunity for abundance - A series of concerts live-streamed from the Montgomery Arts House directly to patrons within the comfort and safety of their homes.

The first MAHMA Live-Stream Event aired in March of 2020, entitled A Saint Patrick's Day in the Life. Since this initial venture, Ms. Newman and the team of artists and innovators at MAHMA have streamed a new concert every month, celebrating both recognized holidays and the simple joy and balm of making music in the face of insurmountable odds.

As the months progressed, Ms. Newman has had the opportunity to include favorite Montgomery Arts House resident and guest artists who reside off of the MAHMA campus in the Streaming Series. She has now had the opportunity to include performers and creators from across the continental United States and abroad, bringing a celebration of collaborative musical offerings to audiences and artists alike.

The Montgomery Arts House Streaming Series streams monthly on the Maria Newman Official Facebook Page, Scott C Hosfeld Facebook Page, and
Maria Newman Official YouTube Live.
